How can you Design Better Landing Pages?

By talking to your prospects and customers will make you understand their requirements. However, if you don’t gather the right facts, then you would miss out on the valuable insights which are required for designing a convertible landing page.

Some of the tips that Tim Ash, Site Tuners founder has found are as follow:

Ambiguous Call-to-Action

When the users visit your page, it should be immediately made obvious to them what the page is for. The CTA must state clearly what they need to do and what would happen next, to make it an easy to locate.

Providing a Lot of Choices

A lot of people think that providing a lot of choices are better, however, it doesn’t work that way. Providing the different choices is good in only a few situations. However, if you care about something and want to invest time in its discovery process, then certainly offering a lot of choices is good. But when it comes to the general sites, it is not wise to provide different choices as this would kill the ability of the users to make a certain decision.

Requiring too much information

Asking a lot of user details, email addresses, and the other contact details can turn away your customers instead of doing any good for you. Just make sure that you ask the users only the information that is absolutely necessary.

Too Much Text

If you are looking for higher conversions then try and get rid of unwanted text first. Only include the most important information regarding your site for taking the desired action. Also, you can use the images on your landing page for communicating effectively with your visitors.

Not Keeping Promises

Most of the times, mistakes happen on the landing page. People come and visit your landing page through a social media post, a search engine result, and any number of different places or a PPC ad.
They always have an expectation which gets set and most of the time; the disappointment is huge in that regard.  This happens due the disconnect that happens when you give them contrary to what they were expecting.

Visual Disruptions

You can always add the extra elements to your page for decreasing the importance of everything on the page. This is how you can minimize the distractions and can increase the users’ attention which is most important. You can review the Twitter landing page for more details.

Lack of Trust

In real life, you can look at a person, see how they’re dressed, talk to them, and interact with them over time.

But Our Visitors don’t have that Luxury

In the real life, you can always talk to the person face to face, and interact with them over time. However, the visitors don’t have the luxury. There are people who interact with landing page are anonymous and make a first impression in 1/10th of a second.  This means that for establishing the credibility and trust, you need to do this through the professional design, social proof, and testimonials and by delivering the useful information to the users over time.
