WordPress has released a second release for its 4.5 version.
About 91 changes have been made by them team since its first release. The RC
means that the changes are done, however a number of users, plugins and themes
may have been missed. The WordPress team is hoping to ship WP 4.5 tomorrow,
April 12; however, they need customer feedback. For those of passionate WP
programmers, you need to test the code.
Wondering if you have found a bug, you can feel free to post
it to the Alpha/Beta
support forum. Any issues that may arise can be found there. For testing
the WP 4.5, you can use the WordPress Beta
Tester plug-in. You can also download the release candidate here. To check
what the version 4.5 offers, visit the Beta 1, Beta 2, Beta 3 and Beta 4 blog
posts.
For Developers
Developers are required to test the plug-in and themes
against a WordPress 4.5 version, reading the instructions in the readme. In
order to find compatibility issues, you need to break things, so make sure to
publish on the support forums for figuring out the bugs before the final
release.
The version 4.5 includes Polygots and hard frozen strings
including the About Page to present it to multilingual community.
Noticeable change
notes since the first candidate release include:
·
Normalized non-slashing data in the REST API
infrastructure
·
Customize settings for widget instances for
getting registered a bit late to give chance for the widget instances for the
registration.
·
Fix issues in the Custom Logo feature and the
Twenty fifteen/Twenty Sixteen themes.
You can also check a post on the REST
API to learn about its infrastructure.
